What affects the price

Number of devices

The biggest driver is how many cameras, readers, access points or phones the project needs. Each one adds equipment, a cable run, a mount and setup time.

Cable distance and the building

Short runs through an open basement or attic go quickly. Long runs, finished walls, block or metal buildings and work at height take more time and material.

Reaching gates and outbuildings

Getting a signal to a gate, barn or second building is often the deciding factor on rural properties. Depending on distance and line of sight, that means a buried cable run or a wireless link, and each has a different cost.

Equipment level

Cameras, recorders and access hardware come in different tiers. We explain what each level gets you, such as image detail, night performance or storage time, so you can choose what fits.

Storage and recording time

For camera systems, the number of days you want to keep video sets the size of the recorder and drives.

What is already in place

Existing cabling, network equipment and power at the right spots can lower the cost. We check what can be reused before recommending anything new.

What goes into a quote

Multi-camera system

For a camera system we count the views you need, such as driveways, entrances, yards, gates and outbuildings, then quote each camera, its mount and cable run, the PoE switch and the recorder sized for the recording time you want.

Gate or entry access

For a gate we quote the keypad, reader or intercom at the entry, its mounting post, the controller and the wiring or wireless link back to the network. We integrate with your gate operator; if the gate needs new line-voltage power, that part is handled by an electrician and we coordinate with them.

Wireless link to a gate or outbuilding

For a wireless link we confirm line of sight, then quote a pair of radios, mounts or a mast, and the network equipment on each end so cameras, Wi-Fi or access control work at the far building.

How we quote

We start with a free walk-through of the property to see the cable paths, mounting spots and distances. You then receive a clear, itemized quote that lists the equipment and labor. If something changes during the job, we explain it and get your approval before doing extra work.

No required monthly fees

FineLine does not charge required monthly fees for the systems we install. Internet, phone or satellite service, where a project uses it, comes from your provider and is billed by them.

Frequently asked questions

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The walk-through and the written quote are free, and there is no obligation to go ahead.

Why is there no price list?

Two jobs that sound the same can need very different cable runs, mounts and equipment. A price list would either be too high for simple jobs or too low for complex ones, so every quote is built from your property.

Can a project be done in phases?

Yes. Many owners start with the most important areas, such as the driveway, the main entrances or the gate, and add more later. We plan the cabling and equipment so adding on is simple.

Are there monthly fees after the install?

There are no required monthly fees for the systems we install. Internet, phone or satellite service, if your project uses it, is arranged and billed by that provider.
