The job
The client asked for high speed, reliability and top-tier performance, so our team built the network entirely on Ubiquiti UniFi gear. The UniFi Pro Max 24 PoE switch provides eight 2.5 GbE PoE++ ports, plus two 10G SFP+ uplinks. A UniFi UPS 2U battery backup keeps the network running through the gap between a power outage and the generator starting.
The network needed one clean, organized home. Our team built out a UniFi 12U wall-mount rack cabinet with a glass door as a complete UniFi rack: a patch panel at the top with short UniFi Etherlighting patch cables, the switching and gateway below it, a network video recorder for the cameras, and managed power and battery backup at the bottom. Every run was terminated at the patch panel and labeled, so the system is easy to service later. The colors at the patch panel come from the switch: the patch cables have translucent boots that show its Etherlighting port colors.
